    Question Selectively Plotting Data?

OK, so I have 10 HUGE spreadsheets (500,000 rows) with data on imports and exports. But I only need data from about 700 rows of each spreadsheet. In the collumns it has the goods being imported, the month it was imported, the county it was imported from and another has the quantity imported. I need some sort of function to arange the quantities on a table so I can plot quantity on the vertical axis, month/year on the horizontal axis and a plot line for each country. I've tryed playing aroundwith if statements but I'm not having any luck.

    Any Ideas?

sounds like you need either a pivot chart or the database functions - probably a pivot chart
if you're not sure how to do this start with the help screens in excel - they're actually quite good on this subject - then come back to this forum if you need further help

The pivot chart seems pretty useful, only problem is it wont let me plot the data as a scatter graph which is a bit of a pain as i wanted to extrapolate them for forecasting reasons :S

Is there any way around this?

    Also, thanks for the help.

    Hi
Jon Peltier's excellent website has a workaround you may find helpful:
