Unhappy Vlookup only shows the first result, is there a method to negate the already existing find

Hi, i am new to the forum and struggling with a problem using the Vlook up function.

I am looking to populate some sheets based on individuals within my department from two raw data reports i have on which the indivudals are listed by their initals.

I am looking to identify the handlers and then populate another sheet with the information relevant to them only, i have managed to set up some Vlookups that will populate the additioanl data once a unique ref code has been identified, in this case Matter Numbers.
i.e. Initals, Matter Number, WIP, NIL, Last Action.

However my inital Vlookup which is aimed at the initals will only return the first record it finds.

    So
Initals: Matter: WIP: NIL: Last Action:
    ADP 1 1 0 01/01/2012
    ADP 1 1 0 01/01/2012

Where as i need it to know it has already returned the first instance and that this can be omitted from any future searches so will return the following:

Initals: Matter: WIP: NIL: Last Action:
    ADP 1 1 0 01/01/2012
    ADP 43 1 0 15/03/2012

Any advice on how to overcome or alternative workarounds will be most aprpeicated.

    Thanks.

Hi Johnjohns and thank you for the link, I think the challnege on that link was that they wanted all of the data in the same field where as i need mine to report in seperate lines one beneath each other. Please feel free to spin me round and point me at the light if i have read the link wrong.

    Thanks.
