Excel 2010
Several files with various LINKS between them
When the LINKED CELL's position changes, the position is not updating correctly in the LINK FORMULA of the Destination File
IE:
Link is =X:\Server\12.13 budget\[00000-Budget_2012-2013_Budget_File.xlsx]Budget Draft 2012-2013'!$AE$1554
and we inserted a line in the WORKSHEET so $AE$1554 should have updated to $AE$1556, but it remains$AE$1554
++ Also using either = and navagatiing to the cell to link or using Copy PASTE LINK, sometimes the SERVER LOCATION is copied into the formula, sometimes it is not..
IE: =X:\Server\12.13 budget\[00000-Budget_2012-2013_Budget_File.xlsx]Budget Draft 2012-2013'!$AE$1554
will copy in as only ='[00000-Budget_2012-2013_Budget_File.xlsx]Budget Draft 2012-2013'!$AE$1554
Neither link formula is updating the cell reference in the link correctly
= Automatically Calculate is checked
= Source file was open and saved
= We checked Data EDIT LINKS and tried to update there
= We selected YES to update when the file was open.
= We checked the Linked Worksheet file locations in EDIT LINKS and they are correct
Further, while BOTH FILES ARE OPEN
-We Corrected the LINK to the Proper Cell
-Then we inserted a line in the SOURCE FILE
-Saved the FILE
The CELL REFERENCE in the DESTINATION FILE UPDATED for the LINK we just corrected, but not for the remaining old links changed from the incorrect cell reference
