    Conditional Formatting and Dropdowns

    Hi All,

I'm trying to create a spreadsheet that will automate my basketball team's line-up. In the attached sheet, The players have been entered into the Player table (G3-G12) and their background color indicates their skill level, yellow to blue (yellow being the highest, etc.).

In the AUTO table (starts at F17), I'd like to automatically populate that. What I thought was that if I had a dropdown in I3 that pulled the names from the Player table, it would be neat to have the AUTO table complete the rotation. The table marked EXAMPLE is how the first week would look.

I was trying to figure out how to get Conditional Formatting to work so that the colors are updated based on the player in the cell. There are a couple of rules this table is based on:
    1) Each player gets equal playing time
    2) Squads stay together
    3) The rotation should begin with the person selected in I3, which would populate the cell Q7 (in the example), then the remaining cells would be updated based on squad and skill hierarchy.

Please feel free to ask for clarification, this all makes sense to me, but I may not have explained it very well here.

Thanks in advance for any help!
