    [SOLVED] Percentile of time

I'm trying to get a PERCENTILE of response times. My response times are in an hh:mm:ss format. When I enter the percentile function with the array and .9 (90th percentile), all I get is the #NUM! error message.
Any ideas? THANKS so very much! My head is really sore from beating it on the wall.

    Re: Percentile of time

    Hi,

=PERCENTILE() works fine for me with hh:mm:ss

Are your data formatted as text perhaps?
    Rule 1: Never merge cells
    Rule 2: See rule 1

    Re: Percentile of time

You know, it must be something in the file conversion! Here's the output from a segment of my array:

    00:00:56
    00:00:56
    00:00:35
    00:00:35
    00:00:31
    00:00:31
    00:00:59
    00:00:59
    00:00:31
    00:00:31

I've formatted the cells to both the 13:30 and the 13:30:55 formats, but it still returns an error. When I manually enter the same times though with the 13:30:55 format, I see a value of 0:00:56 for the first cell of the array. I think you're on to something though!

    Re: Percentile of time

You were right! The array I'm working with are actually exported from a FoxPro database and apparently come out as text. With just a little work, I'll get them reformatted. The small sample I changed worked great. THANKS for your help!!! Problem solved!!
