Counifs then multiply to another column

Hi, I need to to produce a total of items with two categories. I have to count the number of times a text occurs in a column and on another column its category. The third column would be the quantity that I have to multiply with the result.

Example:

Animal: Dog
Type: German Shephered
Qty: 5

I have tried countifs but I cannot work it out to multiply with the quantity.

I think you need the SUMIFS function in XL2007 - Can't help further, not familiar with the syntax yet :-(

where C is summation range (Qty), A is Animal and B is Breed.

If you need to repeat for other combinations you might consider using a Pivot Table with Col A & Col B as Row Labels and Col C as Data Field set to SUM
