    Formatting a worksheet

Please I have attached a file that is giving me some problems.

I want to format the sheets names Junior and Senior-Mgt in such a way that when I print, it will neither cut nor be tiny. I have struggled with this for so long without success.

Please any help will appreciate. I will also like to know the process involved in doing this so that I will not get stuck again when dealing with large files.

Thanks a lot for your usual help.

    st judeu,

what exactly is your question? If you have a table as wide as a house, it will use quite a few pages if it is still meant to be legible when printed.

On my print preview, the Senior Mgmt sheet looks just fine.

The Junior sheet is a different matter. It's twice as wide as a house and you won't be able to create a printout on one sheet that's still legible.

You have arbitrary page breaks to ensure sections stay together. But this is not really helping, because you end up with a ton of paper for the second set of columns that you can't connect to the paper of the first set of columns.

    Consider using print titles.

But most importantly, try to spell out in your own words what you would like to see as a print out. Maybe you can live with just a subset of columns? Maybe you want the column and row headers repeated on each page?

I don't know what your personal "perfect" print out looks like. Describe it for me.

    cheers

    Re: Formatting a worksheet

What exactly are you trying to achieve?

The font is quite large. Is that for accessibility reasons? And you have columns for 31 days. Do people have to sign those boxes, initial them or just put a tick in them?

Do you intend to print on A4 paper or A3?

For the Junior sheet, I have set the page to autofit to 1 page wide and unlimited pages tall (blank). I've changed the paper to A3 but, if you can't print A3, you'll need to change it back to A4.

The only other way to do it, as far as I know, is to force the columns on the left to repeat and allow the page to print 2 pages wide. In Page Break view, you should be able to add a page break mid way.

See the attached workbook for some options.

    Regards

    Thanks for your contributions.
What I want to achieve is a printout where the columns will not cut yet the font size is not small. The boxes should be big enough that they can be ticked. The rows can be reduced such that fewer names will be in a page so that the font size will not be small.

    Hope I'm better understood.

Thanks once more for your contributions.
