    Combining numbers

Lets say I have the pair 38 and i have the pair 58. Combining these pairs will make 358.

If I have the pair 38 and the pair 04 it cannot be combined because there is no matching number. I'm wondering can this task of combining pairs be performed in excel?

I think you need to provide more examples and rationale than just that. Explaining the genesis of the problem would probably help.
