Lookup Monthly GL Figures for Management Report

    Hi,

I will tried to explain this as well as I can as to what I am after.

I am creating a dashboard for my management team (individual states).
I have all the information downloaded for the first couple of month of the year, and what I want to do is when you select which "state/division" you wish to view it returns those figures for each month that the figures are available for.

IE if you select NSW, only NSW Turnover, Overhead Expenses etc are shown.

    Thanks Guru's

So I can help but your map is incomplete.

What is Ref 2-1-1, 2-3-1, 6-1-1 as they are not on the tables tab?

Normally what I do is create a raw data tab, then apply logic on that tab to do any math or bucketing. I will then rap a pivot table around THAT to then use as the source data for my report (so you can use index+match or vlookup instead of sumifs).

Can you create a little bit more and post it and I will show you how I would do it. You dont have enough of an example for me to go off of.

This method will also allow you to use slicers which management tends to like.

Something like this (although I would clean it up a bit).

    NEW Dashboard Template.xlsx

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Been a busy last couple of weeks.

2-1-1 and 2-3-1 were mistakenly left out and should have been included.
Nothing however goes through 6-1-1 so doesn't need to be worried about.

Looks ok, however the northern and southern divisions need to bring back the total for both states under that division, rather than selecting one division then selecting a state.
Also I would also need a function to show the company as a whole result, so everything is added together.

Haha, you don't have to apologize to me. I just help out from time to time when I am waiting on something at work (and sometimes during lunch).

If you select the proper division it will only show the division, so you do not have to select a state,it automatically shows anything under it.

I would build another pivot table for TOTAL, then just use a vlookup off that to get the total.
