    Which fromula you mean, I don't see anyone in your file.

    In row 18:29 you see the data in descending format
    If you change row 4:14, row 18:29 automatically changes in descending format

    I don't think you need a formula if you simply click in your table and then on the Data Tab and Filter Icon. Then you can sort the data using the table dropdown.

    See http://www.contextures.com/xlautofilter01.html for what I mean.

    Mr. Marvin, i know that, But i need a formula.

    Mr. popipipo, given formula is working fine, however i edit to different cell. the first end curvy bracket removes automatically.

    {=INDEX($F$4:$F$15,MATCH(LARGE(($G$4:$G$15)+ROW($G$4:$G$15)/1000,ROWS(F$18:F18)),($G$4:$G$15)+ROW($G$4:$G$15)/1000,0))}

    Pls help me to learn this...

    Look at how to enter Array formulas at:

    http://www.cpearson.com/excel/ArrayFormulas.aspx

    You need to do a Control-Shift-Enter instead of a simple Enter.

    Is that the problem?

    Re: What is the auto formula for Ascending or Descending.

    it's worked, but how about this?
    when I create a table in a row, not a column.
    when I try to enter the same value, but the argument for why the result is the same text?

    this an attachment : my table in 'before' sheet & 'after' sheet.

    please help.
