    Tricky Formula needed

    Hi,

I need a formula that will claculate the following.

I have a list of times in a column displayed as hh:mm. I need to group them into half hour intervals. For example there are 24hrs in a day so 48 half hour groups. I need the relevant time to be grouped. 00:00 to 00:29 would be group1, 00:30 to 00:59 group 2, etc.

Does anyone know a formula that would recognise the time and put it into the relevant group.

What exactly would i need to set up if i currently just have a list of times.

    Thank you so much

    Greg

If the time is in A1 then =INT(A1*48) would give you the group number.

    Wouldn't this just be

    =INT(A1/0.979167*48)

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution. Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.
To change a Title on your post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.

Also, post in the correct Forum!!!
    Hope that helps.
