I need a Sum formula for ebay fees

CAn anyone tell me how to put this in a formula? I'm using the old 97 version

ebay fees for end of auction:

8.75% of the initial $25.00 ($2.19), plus 3.50% of the remaining closing value balance($25.01 - $1,000.00)



I did try the help section in my excel but what can I say
I have no idea. Thank you !!
