Listing unique entries across columns- not data filter

I need to list unique entries in my spreadsheet. I have not been able to use data->filter in the correct way to get the results I am looking for. I did use the search function and was not able to find what I am looking for, although if someone can direct me to a previous thread I would be grateful.

Basically, I have text entered in the cells in two columns. Previous entries are in column A and I work on the new entries in column B. I sometimes accidentally have entries in column B which I have entered in column A, and I need to eliminate these duplicates. I would like to have a formula to have only the new entries in column B show in column C.

I continuously update this list, so I am planning on cutting data from column B and pasting into column A, then making new entries in column B to get only new data in column C each time I work on this spreadsheet.

I have attached an example spreadsheet to help clarify my problem.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

A simple way (which does include blanks) would be to paste
