Ranking Employees by Start Date

Hello,
I am having difficulty with this problem:

I am trying to rank employees by seniority date. Some employees share the same seniority date. They should have the same rank. I took a formula from another thread =RANK(C2,C$2:C$8) and applied it to my worksheet and it worked out great except that the ranking skips the next number (in this case 4).

Rank Name Seniority Date
7 Joe 03/31/97
6 Paul 06/08/98
5 David 06/30/98
3 Allen 10/05/98
3 Ray 10/05/98
2 Michael 11/01/99
1 Josh 07/24/00

Is there a way to prevent it from skipping the number and (in my example) having David be rank 4 and so forth... Please help...
