    Formula advise required

    Folks,

I hope someone can help. I want to create a formula that outputs an non linear opposite number.. that is: if I input 1 it outputs a number at the top of my range say: 1000. and the higher the input number say: 36 outputs a comparative lower number, diminishing as the input number increases. I'm not sure if this is possible using excel, but if any of you clever people can offer any advice I would be really grateful!

    Many thanks

    Geoff

Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.

    Shijesh,

I'm trying to create a simple way of caculating risk, Simply a low input provides a high output. If I used 1 to 100 inputing 1 would equal 100. If I input 100 the output would be 1

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Geoff

    DonkeyOte,

Thanks, this looks good and at least points me in the right direction. I'm sure I can work it out from there.

    Best Wishes

    Geoff
