Supposibg the input date is in cell A1 and the date five days later in cell B1.
Then the formula in cell B1 has to be =A1+5.

The dates in Excel are represented by numbers. Todays date is the number 39831. 23 of January is 39836.
    Just keep it simple !

To get 5 business days use he Workday function. If the date is in A1

    =WORKDAY(A1,5)
    Hope that helps.
