Need formula to check adjacent cell value, and report.

Ok. I am creating item lists in excel for every product that my company sells. I am in need of a formula that does the following:

I want the cell to check to see if there is a value in another cell, and if there is anything at all, i want to display the word Yes as the value, or leave the cell empty.

So I want the cells in Column A to Check if the adjacent cells in Column B have a value. If the column b cells have a value I want the cells in Column A to display the word "Inventory Part". If there is no value I want the cell left blank.

    Can anyone help?

That works, but how can I make the formula span down the entire Column of A, while having a2 check b2, a3 check b3, a4 check b4, etc???

    Is it possible?

    copy the formula down.

Select A2, click and hold the little black square at the bottom right corner of the cell and drag it down the column.

    Copying a formula down

    Yes....
    Here are 2 ways:

    • Select A2
    • Click-and-hold on the fill handle (in the lower right corner of the cell)
(The cursor will turn into a cross)
    • Drag the formula down as far as you need...then release the mouse button

    or..
    • Select A2
    • From the Excel Main Menu: <edit><copy>
    • Select from A2 down as far as you need
    • Press ENTER

    Does that help?

    I love you guys!

Are any of you familiar with importing excel spreadsheets into Quickbooks, as an Item list?

Do you have any links that could be beneficial? Or is this another thread topic?
