    Cool Fiscal months

I was reading through the threads and one caught my eye and I now have to ask the question; if my company's fiscal year starts different to the calendar year how could you show the months as fiscal months not calendar months.

ie. Our fiscal year starts Dec 1, so this is confusing when you try to use the month function in a formula. To me Dec is month 1 to excel Dec is month 12.

Attached is how our fiscal calendar runs. What formula could correlate Dec as month number 1.

Martindwilson, I'm referring to your reply for the Revelant Quarter Thread.

    Thanks for the help!

Do you want to get a month number from a date based on that logic?

If date is in A1 try

    =MOD(MONTH(A1),12)+1
