Formula/Macro to separate dates (written in text strings)

    Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum so please bear with me. I have a data with three columns- each representing the production seasons (Dry 1, Dry 2 and Wet) of vegetables. Right now, I am currently working on 700+ rows of data from 3 countries. And the 3 countries have different formats (not my work but someone else's) that I need to clean so I can do my averaging.

To give you an idea, here is an example:

    dry1
    Cambodia 29/1-15/2/2006
    Cambodia 3/3-10/3/2006
    Cambodia 1-10/Jan/2006
    Lao 1st week/January
    Lao 3rd week/March
    Lao 2nd-4th week/March
    Vietnam 1/3/05 (1 refers to 1st week/3/2005)
    Vietnam 3/3/05 (3 refers to 3rd week/3/2005)
    Vietnam 4/3/05 (4 refers to 4th week/3/2005)

Since they all have different formats, I want to make it the Cambodian data uniform with Lao and Vietnam that shows only the week, month, year (year is optional). What I am interested to accomplish is to pinpoint a particular week and month to identify the cropping season of a particular crop, that is why I am doing this averaging of dates from a text string. For example, I want to average 29/1-15/2/2006, and arrive at 8/2/2006 (or Feb. 8, 2006) and finally say 2nd week/February.

Can someone kindly assist me on this please? Thank you in advance, and hope to hear something from the forum members.

    Chris
