    Data Validation question

I am trying to restrict a cell to only be able to input the letter "i" multiple times, almost like a tally sheet, in other words I want the cell to be restriced to one letter, but allow that letter to be entered multiple times, thanks for any help

Try selecting Custom in Data Validation and using formula:

    =LEN(A1)=LEN(A1)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(UPPER(A1),"I",""))

where A1 is the cell you are placing the validation in.

This will accept lower and upper case "i's"
Where there is a will there are many ways.

    Make cell do tally marks?

I'm trying to think of a way that I can format a cell so an operator can input tally marks and on the 5th one create the slash through like a conventional tally sheet. like llll/ or somesuch...Thanks for any assistance.
