    Lookup and replace help

    Hi,

I need help with a function that I can not get right. It will probably be very simple for the folks on this forum, but is killing me.
I have a list of stores (numbers) and they occur at time more than once in a column. I would like to look into a list and return the actual store name, not a number so that it is easier to read.
Can someone help? I think i am entering a wrong number in the col_num function

    Eg:
Store Store name List of store and names
    1007 ???? 1005 Syd central
    1008 ??? 1007 Syd west
    1008 ??? 1008 Syd East
    1009 ??? 1009 Syd north
    1009 ??? 1010 Wa
    1009 1011 VIC
    1009 1013 NT
    1009 1015 George St
    1011 1016 Pitt Str
    1011 1017 Melbourne
    1011 1019 Dubbo
    1015 1020 Brisbane
    1015 1021 Cairns
    1015 1022 Hobart
    1016 1023 Darwin
    1016 1024 Darwin central
    1016 1025 Darwin east
    1017 1027 Darwin North
    1020 1028 Hobart central
    1021 1029 Melbourne East
    1030 Melbourne North
    1031 Melbourne South
    1032 wagga

    Thanks

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply. It works, but I also noticed that the (my) reference cells were not formatted correctly. This is why your formula would not work for me at first.

    Thanks again!
