Help with INDEX

I am trying to perform a simple look up and part one is working but the second isnt...

Heres what im using...

=SMALL(IF($A$1:$A$7=$A$10,ROW($A$1:$A$7)),ROW(1:1)) THIS Works as shown in the Jpg Formula (BBB) image im enclosing...

=INDEX($A$1:$B$7,SMALL(IF($A$1:$A$7=$A$10,ROW($A$1:$A$7)),ROW(1:1)) -- THis is not Formula (CCC) as shown in the jpg. Yes i have done the CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER but i still get a refference error... Ive tried different variations..but no luck...Please help :-)

You need to post a sample of your workbook: We can't troubleshoot formulas via a picture (they just don't help) and it's a bother to try to create a test file from scratch ( can't copy/paste from jpg's).

well the simpler formula that is used is a vlookup of an index andd match function, I will give you the second as you seem familiar with index

=INDEX($b$1:$b$7,match($A$10,$A$1:$A$7,0))

Is that what you want

=INDEX($B$1:$B$7,SMALL(IF($A$1:$A$7=$A$10,ROW($A$1:$A$7)),ROW(1:1)))
or
=INDEX($A$1:$B$7,SMALL(IF($A$1:$A$7=$A$10,ROW($A$1:$A$7)),ROW(1:1)),2)
