    Automating Spreadsheet

    Hi all

    I have a big problem!

I have a dataset that looks like this (see attached).

What i want to do is to be able to paste the output from a device in columns A to G and then excel to automatically take the data from each column and:

    a) get rid of all empty cells so the data are in a continuous format,

    b) input those data to their corresponding columns eg. for column A (labelled F) the first value you encounter is F1 and the second is F2 so i want these to go under their corresponding columns labelled F1 and F2 respectively. The same applies for columns B,C and D (labelled T,H and DST respectivelly). As you will see what i have done up to now is to use the "DATA-FILTER-AUTOFILTER" function from the dropdown menu on columns A to D and select for each one the "NON BLANKS" option and copy and paste to the columns that i have labelled accordingly.

Now because eg. in column A (labelled F) i have F1 and F2 values (see comments in spreadsheet) i made a new column (column I) that goes F1F2F1F2 etc so i can use the "IF" function in columns K and L to seperate them! (I know that you must be laughing by now because there MUST be an easier way to do this!) But because my "IF" function is crappy i still get blank cells (which i want to get rid of!) in columns K and L.

The same principal goes for the T,H and DST.

For columns E,F and G it is a matter of getting rid the blank cells and the values to appear in Y,Z and AA in a continuous format.

I know that maybe i am asking too much but my excel skills are close to none (and i suppose it shows!) but any help would be valuable!

    Thank you all!
    alex
