Adding formulae to already populated cells

    Hi,

I have a worksheet with a large amount of data on it. I want to multiply all my cells by 1000. The only way I can think of doing this is writing the formula =a1*1000 below my data, dragging it out and then copying it back over my old data. Is there a better way of doing this?
    Thanks,
    Martin

No. A1 is just the first cell of my data set. I would put =A1*100 below my data set and then drag it out to include every set of data included above it. This would give me the data set multiplied by 1000 and then I paste it back over the original data. Just wondered if there was a more streamlined way of doing this with a function or something.

Enter the number 1000 in any vacant cell and copy it.

Then select the range to multiply and go to Edit|Paste Special... select Multiply and click Ok.

Now each cell in the selection should be multiplied by 1000.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

Brilliant. Thanks. I think I may have used that one before actually but like they say, use it or lose it. I havn't been using it for a while so a bit rusty. Cheers again.
