    Creating a Formula to use a specific text identifier for a range parameter

    Help! I'm trying to create formula that will search for a text string to start a range for a sumif formula.

    For example I'm looking for the word "go." This formula will find "go" and use it as the starting point in the range for a sumif or vlookup formula.

    I hope that's clear enough. Thanks!

    Perhaps something like this as the range start: INDEX(A:A,MATCH("go",A:A,0)

    e.g. =SUMIF(INDEX(A:A,MATCH("go",A:A,0)):A1000,">10")

    This will create the range from where if finds "go" in column A to A1000.
    Where there is a will there are many ways.
