    Unhappy VLookup, Istext combination???

    Hello,

I have a mind-bending dilemma (for me at least).

I have two rows of data:

    (See attached example)

I need to create a formula in another sheet that searches COLUMN A and populates the cell with data from COLUMN A & B, ONLY IF COLUMN A contains data.

    Is this possible and how?

You need to prefix your vlookup with an IF statement so that

If the cell is not blank, do the vlookup, else return a blank.

If you attach a copy of your sheet, it will be possible to be more specific.

    Another Question

I understand what you're saying, however, vlookup as that you compare two arrays; in my case, I am asking excel to just search for and print data from rows that contains data in column a.

Sorry, don't do mind reading - you need to define your problem better, that's why I suggested you attach a copy of your sheet. That way, the best solution can be found.

    New Attachment

I just need a formula that will search through a column that contain blank rows and rows with data, the end result being a list of data with no blank rows inbetween. I apologize if the first attachment wasn't clear -- I have revised it and re-attached.

easiest way is probably to filter the data using auto filter but without seeing the whole worksheet it's difficult to tell - that's why I suggested attaching a zipped copy of your sheet rather than a jpeg.
