Is it safe to assume that "SE" is equivalent to "IF" in U.S. English versions of Excel?
If so, what are you trying to do with the first part:
=SE(Q2=R32+Q:Q+R:R;"A";....
If Q2 = (R32 + all of column Q + all of column R), then return "A"??
Dear Paul,
yes, it is the italian version.
There was a problem when I copied, here is the real string:
=se(q2=7;"a";se(q2=6;"b";se(q2=5;"c";se(q2=4;"d";se(q2=3;"e";se(q2=2;"f";"g"))))))
Thanks!
I honestly don't see a problem with the formula. I copied it to my workbook, changed the references from "se" to "if", and changed the ";" to "," and it worked just fine.
Are you getting incorrect results, or is the result not changing? If it's the latter, check to see if your calculation is set to Automatic (Tools -> Options -> Calculation tab). If it's the former, what results are you seeing?
Or is it simply throwing an error when trying to enter the formula?
it was the commas!!!!!
the online guide in italian presents the formula with ;, not with '.
THANKS!!!!!
Ah, glad to see you got it working. The semi-colon vs. comma can be tricky between versions and your regional settings.![]()
