Question Sum the totals of multiple items

I have an spreadsheet with multiple items,One item can be repeated multiple times. If an item is repeated I would like get sum the amounts.

I've been doing this manually for all of the items, but that's too time consuming and my boss is already yelling. So if you have any idea on how to accomplish this I'll be very thankful!!

I've attached the spreadsheet. the actual list is 100 times longer but the size was too big.

I would probably use the consolidate function, seems like a very fast way to complete your objective!

Here is a link to a great explanation:

I tried the consolidate formula, but I can't get the descriptions to show. I only get the Item number. Is there a way to show both the item number and the description.

    Mission Accomplished!!!

I couldn't get the description to show automatically,so I just use vlookup to pull the value.

    Thanks for all the help.
