Removing time from date/time data - Excel 2010

[Huzzah]

Hello, I am sure this is a simple thing but cannot seem to find a solution on my own. I get data from someone who pulls it from a SQL table and the date comes in the format of "12/28/2010 7:47:55 AM"

I only need the date, how do I get the time removed. I can change the way the field formats the data to only show the time but that doesn't help me when I do a pivot table as each time results in there being many instances of the same date.
