Average function!

I have a situation and I'm having trouble finding the correct function to complete the needed task.

I have a little league baseball draft coming up for my son and I have developed a spreadsheet to help track my team's draft. My spreadsheet allows me to input the player i select in each round along with a rating that I have assigned each player in the column to the right of the player's name. As the draft progresses, I would like the spreadsheet to automatically average the ratings of the players that have been selected to give me an overall rating for my team at that time. For example, if the first four rounds have been completed, the formula should sum the four ratings that have been inputted, and divide by 4. Once the 5th round is complete, the forumla should sum the 5 ratings for the 5 players that have been selected, and divide by 5. I'm having trouble developing a formula that will automatically determine how many player ratings are in the spreadsheet and divide by the correct number to determine the proper average.

Can anyone help me develop a formula to complete the above task?
