    Hi!

Know this is an old post, but I hope someone reads it.

I have the same problem. Want to define the path to the worksheet in a cell. Then use this cell as a reference for my formulas in other cells. I have a lot of workbooks to draw data from + a lot of formulas so really need this one.

Perhaps you would describe for me in detail how to do this, beccause I didn't understand the link too well..

    Thanks
    /Henrik

Thanx for such quick response, but I somehow still don’t get it.

I want to define the workbook I have to take numbers from in, say A1
Then be able to use A1 in that workbook as a reference to the A1. So instead of having many cells with =[workbook.xls]Sheet1!”cell_id”
I can simply have something like =”cell_reference_with_file_definition”Sheet1!”cell_id”
The point is that I want to be able to change the reference in A1 to another workbook, and then the dependant cells would change accordingly.
I know I can change the links in edit – links, but that is a bit messy for this project because I’ll have to make up lots of “fake” lines first.

    Thanx again :-)
