Column A consists of dates throughout the year. 11/17/2007 11/18/2007 12/1/2007/12/2/2007 12/2/2007 12/3/2007 12/3/2007 etc each correspongding to a ticket. I want to count the occurance of the month 11 and put in column C then the occurance of month 12 and put in column D. Basically I want to find out how many tickets there were in November, December, etc by couting the dates.
Try
=Sumproduct(--(Month(A1:A100)=11)
to count November occurances in cells A1:A100
change 11 to 12 for December, etc...
adjust range to suit.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

Yes, I did forget an extra closing bracket... so Excel's fix is right....
but it should work after that with any date format... as long as the dates are entered in as dates and not text strings... and as long as you don't have any errors in that range....
what error is it giving you?
