I need to create a column where the user can select from a drop-down list (data validation) but there is a blank line where the use can input unique text. I need this for every cell in the column so I don't think an ActiveX control combo box will work. Any one have ANY ideas?

You can still use Data validation for your drop-down list in each cell, but on the Error Alert tab (in Data validation window), de-select the checkbox for 'Show error alert...'
This way, they can select an item from your pre-defined list OR type in their own text.
