    count if with an OR

Hi, I have to sum a row of $$ if the data in another row equals IP or C is there a way do use OR in formulas?

    example:

    cell A1=$187,000 cell B1=IP
    cell A2=$93,000 cell B2=C
cell A3=$150,000 cell B3 is empty

How can I total just A1 and A2 based on column B?

    Thank you
    Judi

    Hi, Judi. This should work:

    =SUMIF(B:B,"IP",A:A)+SUMIF(B:B,"C",A:A)

    HTH

    You could also use

    =SUM(SUMIF(B:B,{"IP","C"},A:A))
