    Sorting problem

Another one, I know... Sorry if there is already a question and a thread like this, but I didn't find it.

    To the problem.
I enter names and values in two columns and need them sorted by column in the third one. Also, when the values are sorted, I need the names to be "attached" to them again.

Hmmm, not very clear, I guess. Here's the sheet.

    PS. Sorry for my english.

Not sure exactly what the problem is... Just select any cell within that table, select Data > Sort, then sort Column B descending.

    Sorting problem

    Try this (using your example):

    Select ALL of your data.....A3:B6

    From the Excel Main Menu:
    <data><sort>
    Sort by: Column B.....Descending.....Click [OK]

When Col_B sorts, the corresponding Col_A values will sort with it.

    Does that help?

I know I didn't explain very good. Did you look at the attached sheet?

Yes, I did. All I did was select cell A3, then when you go to Data > Sort, Excel will automatically select the contiguous range of A3:B6. Then sort by Column B descending.

You're right. Even in the example I didn't explain it very good.
To sort - it's not a problem. But I need result of sorting to be shown in cells H3:I6. Why? Because I need to later connect sorted data to the other sheet.

While trying, I noticed one more thing. Sorting doesn't work correctly for calculated average value.

I forgot to thank you all for helping me. Sorry
