    Employee overtime payment

I am still working on my assignment, and i need to calculte employee overtime payment.
So my problem is how to create a formula in the total field to display overtime pay for the week.

And one more question; how to i create a formular to flag the user that the daily hours exceeded 8.

I have attached the work so that it will be easier.

    Thanks

If you zip your Excel file I can help you. Converting this text document bak to excel gives to much wrong formatting and your own formulas are lost too.

Your .zip file contains the same Word document as above. Could you find the excel file and zip this. Excel file has .xls extention and not .doc extention.

In cell H11 you can put this formula to calculate the overtime payment for the week:

    =H10-G10*$F$2

This can then be copied to the other weeks.

You should also change the format of your workhour totals to number instead of time. the time format does not show the correct number of hours when you pass 24 hours. (But for calculation as in the formula above it woorks fine).

    Good luck

To alert the user about days with over 8 working hours you could use Conditional formating on the format menu. You apply this to the cells that shows total working hours each day. Set the condition to : Cell value is greater than 8 . Then select a format e.g. Red background for the cell.

This will make all days with more than 8 hours get red background instead of grey.
