    Using formulas in cells

    Hey All,

I am trying to have a formula in a cell that I can use in other cells.

However, I would like to have the formula retained in the cell where the fromula is input.

The cell, where Ive input the formula, changes to the value of the fromula thus rendering the cell useless for other calculations, ie: from other cells.

Is there a way to do this with excel that the formula, not the value of the formula, is retained in the cell?

    Thanks in advance

Well, to answer you part for retaining the formula. All you have to do is not enter an "=" sign. For example, instead of =SUM(A1:A2), you put SUM(A1:A2)

What I am interested in is, how are you going to use this as a formula in another cell? (unless you use VBA)

    Thanks for the reply,

I kind of figured it would have to be some kind of "declared variable" or similar
    but wasnt sure.

    Thanks

    Hi

Can you post a working example of what you're trying to do?

With layout, inputs, logic, and expected outputs.
