    #N/A result from VLOOKUP function

    I'm trying to use VLOOKUP for a rate code that corresponds to a rate description. The table is on another worksheet in the same workbook, with the rate code in the first column, sorted by code. I have attached two JPEG images, the first of the worksheet with the VLOOKUP function, and the second is the worksheet with the lookup table. Thank you for your time!

    It looks as though perhaps the numbers in AR are formatted as text?




    Try to Select column AR in sheet 1 and go to Data|Text to columns and click Finish...

    Does that fix it?

    You rule!

    That was it exactly. Funny- I've done that before, but not the text to columns option. I just formatted the cells to General, and that didn't work. This worked like a charm. Thanks for the help!
