    Look Up Table

    Hey all,

I'll get straight to it. Is it possible to use a lookup function on a table of data? i.e. if I want to look up the input "2,3" I'd get the value "h" in the table below:

    --1-2-3
    1 a b c
    2 d e f
    3 g h i

    Thanks for any advice/direction

    Beale

If your data is in A1:D4....try

    =INDEX($A$1:$D$4,MATCH(3,$A$1:$A$4,0),MATCH(2,$A$1:$D$1,0))

replace 3 and 2 with cell references housing these input values.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

Great! It works really well - I even understand the formula which is new...

    Thanks!
