    Unhappy Database Value Copy

    Hi everyone,

So I've a set of worksheets all interlinked and on each sheet, I will have formula cells e.g. A1 + B1 = C1
with cells A1 and A2 taking value using the HPVAL command from a Hyperion Database. Obviously the worksheet has way MORE complicated formulaes and structures all interlinked between the sheets of the file.

The thing is that I have to send these worksheets to senior managers elsewhere who are either NOT connected or NOT have access to the databases where these values are being retrieved from.

What I'd like to do is to have a process whereby I can pass an excel file through it and what will happen is that it will copy the Hyperion obtained cells (A1 and B1) as pure values whilst retaining the formulas for cell C1.

Any idea how that can be done?
Sorry if I don't come across as clearly as I should but if anyone needs more info to help me, please ask.

Hope one of you can help. Thanks very much... .

If the spreadsheet is in a set format and wont change its layout you could use a macro to change all the cells that have retrieved data and turn them into just the values so the formulas will still work and the values will remain even if the file is sent to another employee.

Just remeber to save the newly created file under a different name and don't overwrite the original because this will then remove the links that retrieve the data from other speradsheets/locations.

p.s. if you need any help post the layout opf the spreadsheet and what you actually want to stay.
