    Conditional Formating

    hey all,
    lets say i have 4x4 matrix.

    A B C D total
    A 5 3 3 3
    B 3 5 7 8
    C 2 3 4 6
    D 1 2 3 4


    i want to highlight all row that has the max value.
    how can i do that?

    Hi

    If your data as shown is in the range A1:D4 then select cell A1
    Format, Conditional Formatting, Formula Is: =MAX($A1:$D1)=MAX($A$1:$D$4), select your format options, then save.

    Copy A1 and Paste Formats to A1:D4.

    Select the range of your data i-e A1:D1 then apply Conditional Format as told by rylo.
    (You need not to do the last step mentoined by rylo i-e Paste special as Formats)

    hey why this formula doesnt work for trying to find minimum

    i just change max to min, it doesnt work?

    =MAX($A1:$D1)=MAX($A$1:$D$4)


    this formula..instead of max i used min...it doesnt work for min

    Have look at sheet3. Just changed the max to min and it is highlighting row 4 which has the min value of 1.

    hey Rylo, thanks for helping me but, you got me wrong i think.

    i want to highlight the row which has the minimum total sum.

    if the max formula has the same idea, than i have been doing wrong from beginning..damn...

    i need to highlight the row which has the min total sum and
    i need to highlight the row which has the max total sum
