What is this formula, and where is it getting data from?

Hi all, I have been working with this new excel sheet, and I noticed that is has a formula in cell J1 that has a formula =Source!AX1 What is this? There is also another one in K1 that contains a formula =TYPE(J1) What does all of this mean?? lol Might I add that these cells were hidden before i got my hands on it My boss told me to tear this file down because we used it a long time ago, and he wants to know what it was used for. Is there any way to see where this cell is getting its data from? I've already checked the collumn AX, and there is no data in it...

    Good afternoon mshale

    =Source!AX1
This formula is simply pulling the contents from cell AX1 on a sheet called "Source"

    =TYPE(J1)
This one looks at cell J1 (presumably the above) and informs the user whether a cell contains a number, text, logical value, error or array by returning (respectively) 1,2,4,16 or 64.

Please familiarise yourself with the rules before posting. You can find them here.

That's what i thought, but unless there is a way to hide sheets, the sheet "source" doesn't exist. I'm stumped!!

You can hide sheets. You might be able to unhide it. Under "format" menu select "sheet" and "unhide"
