"inconsistent formula" error!

Hi! I hope someone can help me figure out what in the world I'm doing wrong.

I made up a very simple "savings goals" spreadsheet, and use only the simplest little functions. I've done this type of thing a hundred times before and never had a problem.

But this time, the function under RETIREMENT keeps giving me an "inconsistent formula" error! It's just a simple F3+1000 formula ... pretty much the same as I've used in every other column, but no matter what I do (I've even deleted the column and inserted it to start from scratch) it keeps telling me there's an error.

Of course, I can just instruct the program to ignore the error, but that won't teach me what I'm doing wrong in the first place.

If there's anyone here who could take a quick look and let me know what I'm doing wrong and how I can fix this, I would be eternally grateful!

Oh, my goodness .. is that all it is? I drove myself crazy trying to "fix" the error. Thank you so much for replying. I would have obsessed over it for days! I'll do as you suggest.

It's not really an error. It's just warning you that the formula is not consistent with formulas around it. Maybe because to the left and right of these cells you're adding 300 and here your adding 1000....so it notices the difference and warns you.

In your case I think it's not supposed to be.

You can get rid of those warnings by selecting the range. Right-clicking on the warning icon and selecting "ignore error"
