    Problem with VLOOKUP

In an attached file I have a problem with the VLOOKUP formula in columns Class and SubClass in worksheet CRX. The contents in cell L20 & M20 are values that should be the result of the formula in those 2 columns. Would someone please help me. Thanks

Column A on your CRX sheet is actually numbers stored as text. To correct this, highlight column A. Click on DATA in the main toolbar, then select TEXT TO COLUMNS. Just click NEXT-NEXT-FINISH.

    Your VLOOKUP should now work.

Report back and let us know if it helped.

Another nice way to convert text to numbers :
    enter 1 in any cell
    select it
    ctr-C
select the range you want to convert
    right-click
    select Paste special
    select " Multiply"
    OK

I will do the conversion. However my file is a much larger file consisting of alpha-numeric part numbers in column A.
