I need help stopping a work book from recalculating when being opened from other app.

Okay, I have a new problem now ... Greg M helped me come up with a way to open a work book inside a work book to populate in formulas ...

Here's the next problem, all of these workbooks have start up functions, that are quite necessary to the person viewing the workbook, it limits access and such, so here's my problem

When the workbook opens up, it comes to the foreground and updates what it needs to update before it becomes hidden ... so here's my question

Is there a way for me to A ... keep the workbook in the background while it's updating or B is there a way for me to disable the Workbook_Open() command when it's being opened from a secondary workbook?

    Hi again,

I posted a response to query B in your original thread - hope it works for you.

Regarding query A, you can disable the screen updating so that you don't see the opened workbook before you hide it, but I don't think you can actually prevent it from being the "uppermost" workbook.

    Regards,
