Red face Formatting Cell to highlight when data is changed

    Hello,

This may be a simple question for some and a hard one for others...but I have a co-worker who is interested in learning how to design a macro that would automatically highlight a cell when data copied over from a different source when that data is at or below a certain average or range. Is this possible?

I think you can use the conditional formatting tool (under the format menu) for this purpose.

This allows you set certain formatting items (such as cell fill colour) when the contents of the cell satisfy a certain set of criteria.

If you are copying and pasting data, then the only tricky part is that you need to paste special - values, cause if you do a regular paste it will remove the conditional formatting.

Let me know if this accomplishes what you want.
