Goal seek question

Hi!

I have a question I was hoping to ask. I have an excel sheet with a very complex formula that I have trying to compute (about 6 worksheets are involved). Ultimately the user inputs a single parameters, excel does the math and provides an answer done the road.

Now I was hoping to use something like goal seeking to go in reverse, to find a target value for a desired result. This also works fine, but I do not want the goal seeking to overwrite was was initially there, but rather want the result shown in another column.

Is this possible, or is there some other way of doing it?

I’m trying to understand exactly what you are trying to achieve, but it would be better if you could provide a small zipped sample of your data together with the expected result, then I’m sure it will be easier for me (or someone else) to help you.

To post a zipped example, go to “My Documents” or wherever you have your file stored, right-click and “Send to > Compressed file”, then attach this zipped file to your post.
