vLookup for Multiple Variables?

Hi,

I have a worksheet with 3 columns
Date, Type, Hours

What I want to do is compile a table with date going across the columns and type along the rows (see attached screen shot).

I want to sum all the hours for each date & type and compile them in a table seen in the screenshot.

Is there a way I can do this through vLookUp? Or would sumif be better?


Anotehr way this can be phrase that might make it more clear

Can vLookup look for 2 variables. If those 2 variables return true, to add it, then continue searching the entire array and adding all values that return 2 true on those variables?
