Starguy, you were helping me with an issue I had the other day and I have a small issue. You mentioned that the helper columns weren't required, but my question is...would you use them or would you use the second suggestion you made.

My problem is that when I am searching for a value instead of text....the value appears and adds 1 to it, therefore putting a numeric value higher than 1 for the first occurance.

File is attached, please not Column B, which is searching column S for instances of "60". When it finds the value, it adds 1 to it, placing 61 in the cell. Well, when I am referencing this on the Formations page, it won't show up b/c it is looking for 1 (not 61). Any help?

you need a blank row at the top before the first cell where you put the formula.
see the attached file (Row 2 which is red is the blank row)

    One More Thing

When I pull the information into the Formations sheet, is there a way to have the number (and color) associated with the data to also follow to the Formations sheet?

On the attached file, the Master sheet, Cell U19 is "Efi 60". The cell directly to the left of that is Tan in color and the number 17. So when I say Tan 17, everyone knows that we need to execute Efi 60. I need Tan 17 to also go to the Formations sheet just to the left of Efi 60 (Which would go in Cell D2).

If we can get this to work, It will be AWESOME!!!

    Thanks for your help...AGAIN.

    One last thing

Okay, that works great, but is there a way for the formatting to follow the data? In other words, I need the fill color (Tan) to carry over, because we will have several "17"s and only one of them will be Tan. So this is REALLY important and will save the world.

Thanks, again, for all your help.

colours and formattings cannot be fetched with formulas so you need to fill it manually.
