    Colour display

    Hi

I use conditional formatting in my spreadsheets but I can't work out how to change the colour of a cell.

    I have :-

    Stock level 10
    Units used 8
    Units left 2
    Minimum stock 5
    Units required 3

Basically when the units left drops below the minimum stock level I need the cell colour to change. The formula needs to say:-

IF UNITS LEFT < MINIMUM STOCK THEN CHANGE THE CELL COLOUR OF UNITS REQUIRED TO RED
The minimum stock level will change from time to time. I may need to increase or decrease the number so I don't think I can use the formula :-

IF UNITS LEFT < 5 THEN CHANGE THE CELL COLOUR OF UNITS REQUIRED TO RED
    Cheers

    Beanie

you wrongly removed that post where I have already put this answer.

    however
if cell C1 contain units left and D1 contain minimum level.
    in conditional formatting try this.

formula is: =C1<D1 and change colour to Red

I'm sorry. My submit click wasn't working and duplicated the thread 4 times.

Many thanks for your help both of you. I knew the answer was there somewhere staring at me.

It's just I was looking under the wrong stone.
